We are accepting submissions of poetry or short fiction collections until May 15, 2026
Barrel Dog Press is a small publisher. We started in 2025, and are seeking to expand our list with short fiction and poetry collections in the near future. We are not able to offer significant marketing, we want to be open about this as a very small, very new press.
Your title will be available to order through bookstores on conventional terms from our distributor. It will be made available online.
All submissions must be emailed by 11:59 pm on May 15, 2026.
Please follow these basic guidelines:
- Submit to the designated email only
- All submissions must be your own original work, and must have not made use of artificial intelligence (AI) or large language models (LLMs) in their creation
- The subject should begin with SUBMISSION: and your title
ie, SUBMISSION: Title of Collection - Your submission should include a brief biography of the author and information about the collection you are proposing to have published
- Please include a short paragraph about how you see marketing this title
- Short stories or poems for the collection should be attached as a single document in .pdf format with the filename structure last name, underscore, poetry or fiction, .pdf
ie, YourLastName_poetry.pdf - All submissions will receive a response. We hope to be able to respond to all submission provided within 8 weeks.
